The Stag, in the old town, has a folk night on Tuesdays and a bluegrass night on Wednesdays each week. The Accapella singers Rattlebag host their Singaround every third Thursday of the month.

Raggedtrouseredfolk is upstairs at The Jenny Lind in the old town, Hastings aimed at those who are discerning about music and prefer to listen without the background noise of people talking. On Feb. 1st Scarlet Jacks a guitar-violin duo are ex Dawn Parade front man Greg McDonald and much-in-demand session violinist and film composer Gemma Gaynor. They played Cambridge Folk Festival in 2011 and made a huge impression. Phil Beer and Steve Knightley of Show of Hands are producing their debut album. On Feb. 29th Mark Wynn an amazingly talented young folk musician already having two excellent albums to his name. He played support for Mark Olson of The Jayhawks and now has a real cult following. Folk at the Royal Oak, Station Street Lewes is held upstairs on Thursday nights, there is no membership rather a number of like minds who come together to celebrate and enjoy a range of musical traditions in a convivial, socially conducive atmosphere. They will also try to make all newcomers feel welcome. On Feb. 2nd Kate Lissauer a highly regarded exponent of American old-time country music, Feb. 9th Steve Turner who comes from a family of singers and concertina players, 16th Jeff Davis who is one of America’s most respected collectors and interpreters of traditional music and on 23rd London born Dave Swarbrick.
The Lamb Folk Club in Eastbourne Old Town is on the first and third Wednesday of each month on the upper floor. Everybody is welcome and we present a wide range of professional folk singers and players as well as floor spots for visiting musicians. Doors open at 8pm with an 8.30pm start. Floor singers are welcome but early arrival is recommended. Admission for floor singers is free on open stage nights.

April 24th the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, Imelda May. Irish rockabilly-folk singer Imelda May is set to perform songs from her critically acclaimed album Mayhem as part of a UK tour. She has recently released the single Roadrunner with Jeff Beck and a re-release of More Mayhem to further acclaim.
The Moors have been invited to open the Jack in the Green festival this year at St Mary in the Castle, Hastings, on May 4th. They will also be playing that same weekend at The Brunswick in Hove, making their debut in the Brighton Fringe Festival on May 6th.
