On Friday 15th June singers will gather from Chi, Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings and Rye to storm Hastings with a powerful sound of Gospel, African and music from the Deep South. The choir will be joined by one of Hastings own samba reggae groups and some of the funkiest brass on the south east coast at the St Leonards and Hastings Angling Club. Doors open at 8.15pm, starting at 9pm, Tickets £8. Tickets can be purchased on the door or to avoid disappointment email: vocalexplosion@yahoo.co.uk

If you've been listening to Hastings Rock since it went on air, you'd have heard a certain jingle written and recorded by Mandie B, the Soul X Press front person! Apart from supplying knock out soulfull vocals, Mandie has her own company, Jingleworks, and records jingles, radio commercials and web loops for a variety of companies in the South East. A recent move to the area has prompted Gary Dorking to produce and show work for the first time in years from 24th May to 5th June, at the Hastings art forum in St Leonards will be hosting an exhibition of some rather unusual work – paintings by multimedia artist Gary Dorking. 5th June ‘Queens Jubilee’ the Dolphin in Hastings old town has live music and the Best of British meal deal, £7.95 for main meal with a Pint of draught beer or glass of wine.
U2tribe is a U2 tribute band based in the South East of England whose members are all passionate U2 fans. They are committed to capturing the authentic sound and performing with energy and passion in a similar way to the origin.  U2tribe will take you on a journey that is the history of U2's music, playing some of the cult classics like 'Electric Co' and 'Out of Control', to the passion of songs like 'Sunday Bloody Sunday', to the stadium staples of songs like 'Where the Streets have no name' and 'Beautiful Day' and also newer material from the past few years like 'Vertigo' and 'Get on your Boots' plus many more. U2tribute will be at the Ypres Inn, Rye on 25th May.

Hastings Rock Radio are pleased to announce that 'Chase Vets' will be sponsoring their broadcast once again this year. But the one big change for 2012 will be the location of their studio. After many years at the Robert De Mortain on the Ridge in Hastings they will now be based at the Kings Head public house on the Rye road in Redlake. A change of venue perhaps, but you can be assured of hearing great music.
